Leave Chengdu in the morning, and pass through Leshan and Yibin, traveling alongside the Yu River, which is known for its beautiful scenery, comparable to the famed Li River. Before too long the luxuriant Southern Sichuan Bamboo Sea comes into view, and the sight is spine-tingling! China's largest bamboo culture museum is located here – well worth a visit, as are the picturesque waterfalls. A walk along the ropeway is essential so as to get a bird’s-eye view of the whole Bamboo Sea.
A morning stroll on the natural red carpet of the jade corridor, feeling the bamboo dancing in the breeze, is the best way to start the day. The entire Bamboo Sea can be gazed upon from the Sea Viewing Pavilion, and a walk along the ropeway right through the Bamboo Sea itself is to experience its beauty and charm. Boating on the clear waters conjures up imagery of heavenly peace as the boat glides effortlessly over the shimmering water. Age-old cultural relics are concealed in the green-hued mountains and rivers bubbling with life, injecting more mystery and pleasure into a trip to the Bamboo Sea.
