Day1    Chengdu-Niba Mountain- Qingxi Ancient Town- Jiuxiang Ancient Town- Hanyuan New Town

Depart from Chengdu in the morning, go on Chengdu-Ya’an Expressway, leave the expressway through Yingjing County, and then go on National Highway 108; begin to climb Niba Mountain at 2,500 m altitude from Siping Town of Yingjing County. After getting to the mountain top, you can stop the car for a rest and enjoy the majestic momentum of the mountains. As you go down to the mountainside, you will see a village road paved with cement on the left of the road. Through this road, you can enter the Ancient Southern Silk Road about 2 km long. After finish the visit, just return to National Highway 108 to arrive in Qingxi Ancient Town. The town still keeps the original life style and a complete Confucius’ Temple. After leaving the ancient town, drive 12 km to arrive in Jiuxiang Ancient Town. Here you can visit Jiuxiang Stone Archway.
After the visit, just go toward Hanyuan New Town. If you still have enough time after arranging for accommodation, you can drive to Hanyuan Lake and Jinzhong Mountain for a visit.

 Niba Mountain

With the main peak at 3,300m altitude, Niba Mountain where National Highway 108 passes by is located between Yingjing County and Hanyuan County of Ya'an. Even though it is not very high, the road is very hard and perilous. Niba Mountain Pass at 2,552m attitude is the only way to tramp over Daxiang Ridge, famous climate watershed, and this pass is the best sightseeing platform to overlook Gongga Mountains from northeast direction.
Here, tourists can enjoy distinctive scenery in four seasons. The nature will present beautiful scenery, like new plants and songs of birds in spring; blue sky, white cloud, green mountains and rivers and the clear breeze in summer; maple leaves covering full mountain and blossom of azalea in autumn; and fluttering snowflake, iced trees and glaciers in winter. There is a great variety of wild animals, including pandas, buffalos, serows, golden pheasants, as well as monkeys.

 Qingxi Ancient Town

Qingxi Ancient Town was built in the Han Dynasty and was famous for several springs in the town. Qingxi Town is adjacent to Ya'an in the north, Xichang in the south, Emeishan in the east and Kangzang in the west. It is an important courier station of Ancient Southern Silk Road and since the Qin and Han Dynasties, various organizational systems are set here by ancient Chinese government. The ancient city wall is against rough mountains and looks like a big dragon floating down from the sky to tightly surround the town. Through more than 1,200 years, today, most of these ancient city walls have been destroyed, but their majestic appearance still exists. Streets are not wide, but simple and elegant with antique beauty and flavor. Old memorial archways made of stones sit at the end of streets. Ancient architectural complexes of period of the Ming and Qing Dynasties are located at both street sides. Carved beams, painted rafters and pavilions are still full of antique and ancient charm although they are for long years out of repair presenting a dilapidated and damaged scene.

Day2    Hanyuan New Town- Dadu River Gorge National Geological Park-Chengdu

Depart from Hanyuan New Town in the morning, go on Provincial Highway 306, and go down along the Dadu River. You can enjoy the beautiful landscape of Dadu River Gorge National Geological Park.
Through server hours driving, visiting and photographing, even you get a bit tired or hungry, you will recover as you stay in the scenery gorge. Tourists can have lunches in Jinkouhe District of Leshan and then return to Provincial Highway 306 to return to Chengdu through Chengdu-Leshan Expressway.

 Sichuan Dadu River Canyon National Geopark

Dadu River Canyon is located between Hanyuan County of Ya'an and Jinkouhe District of Leshan. The canyon is 17km wide from west to east and 26km long from north to south. It is less than 2,00m wide and more than 2,000m deep. High mountains and staggered rivers are criss-crossing in the canyon. The narrowest place is only more than 20m wide and the deepest place is 2,675m. It has been approved by National Geological Relic (Geopark) Review Committee on December 2001 to formally become the second national geological parks of China and be named as "Sichuan Dadu River Canyon National Geopark".
