Southern Sichuan Bamboo Sea

Located in Yibin City, the Bamboo Sea is about 60 km from downtown Yibin. The entire Bamboo Sea is Z-shaped, with the distance east to west wider than north to south. This area is a typical Danxia landform. In the bamboo forests, there are enchanting criss-crossing creeks, cascading waterfalls, quiet lakes, and clear spring water ......... and the delight of breathing refreshing, crisp air. The Southern Sichuan Bamboo Sea, with 58 types of bamboo covering an area of more than 4,600 hectares, is the largest primitive Green Bamboo Garden, complete with hills, caves, lakes and waterfalls, and a cultural landscape spanning a long period of history. The area has vegetation coverage of up to 87% and the air has extremely high anions content.
Southern Sichuan Bamboo Sea is one ofFirst National AAAA Tourist Attractions, aNational Park of China, Forty Topping Tourist Attractions of China, Chinese Biosphere Reserves and one of Top Ten Beautiful Forests in China selected by Chinese National Geography. 124 scenic spotsare distributed in the Bamboo Sea. It is about 13km long and 6km wide, including 15 National A Tourist Attractions and 19 National AA Tourist Attractions; it is grand, steep, quiet and beautiful; Tianhuang Temple, Tianbao Village, Xianyu Cave, Qinglong Lake, Colorful Waterfall, Ancient Battlefield, Guanyun Pavilion, Jade Corridor, ChahuaMountain and Huaxi Thirteen Bridges are called the "Top Ten of Bamboo Sea".

Famous Attractions 

Guanyun Pavilion 

It is also named Jiaozi Stone. Hills in southern Sichuan may be seen in the Pavilion. There are green rivers, crossed paths and beautiful bamboos with households everywhere. It is the mountainous area where Sichuan Basin transits to Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. Two east-west mountain ranges are winding, one of which is yellow ridge and another is covered with green vegetation, and they protect the Southern Sichuan Bamboo Sea as "Yellow Dragon" and "Green Dragon".

Xianyu Cave 

Xianyu Cave was a grotto temple built on arock; it was a Taoist temple in former time, but with the prosperity of Buddhism, it became a Buddhist temple; and Kwan-yin Hall and Lord Lao TzuHall were constructed after the Song Dynasty. Actually, Xianyu Cave is a religious venue for both Buddhism and Taoism.

Qinglong Lake 

With an area of 3.06sq.km, it covers a large water surface and many historical sites. Qinglong Lake, as the largest lake in Bamboo Sea, is located under the steep Chaqi Mountain with a water surface of 3sq.km. Tourists may go boating or drink tea in the pavilion on the lakeside. It is comfortable to enjoy the cool and chat with other near the lake in nights of summer and autumn.

Bamboo Sea Museum 

Southern Sichuan Bamboo Sea integrates the collection protection, exhibition, academic research and social education of bamboo culture, and aims to "retrospect ancient national culture and show the essence of profound bamboo culture". There are 6 exhibition halls, one "Bamboo Park" and one bamboo workshop in the Museum, which exhibit pictures of beautiful scenery of Bamboo Sea, abundant bamboo resources and splendid bamboo culture.

Lakein BambooSea 

Lakein Bamboo Sea, located on the left side of Jade Corridor-Xianyu Cave Road, is the first scenic spot of Xianyu Cave Scenic Area. It was a lower trough valley on the Zhuhai Mountain, and then formed into a lake with dam constructed and opened to the public in March 1998. Covering about 60mu, it is named for it likes a "sea" in the vast bamboo sea.
