Built in the Jiaqing Period of the Qing Dynasty as a Wasi Headman Ancestral Shrine to worship the Statue of Wasi Headman and the Buddhas of the Past,Present and Future, the shrine was destroyed in 1958. The current temple was rebuilt in recent years, on the hill at the confluence of Zhonghe River and Heishi River. The hill is in a good shape with shady trees and beautiful scenery. Wangbao Tomb was also built on the hill. Wang Bao (1795-1808), a citizen of Sanjiangkou Township governed by Wasi Headman, was recommended as the frontier officer for his battle achievement (he did not go to his post), then appointed as Sanjiang Army and Government Officer subordinating to Wasi Headman. He preformed good deeds in the township and was buried in Sanjiang Township after his death.
Xuankou Middle School Site
All the school buildings in Xuankou Middle School was sunk and collapsed during the 5.12 Wenchuan Earthquake in 2009. They were 5-floor buildings before earthquake and they became 3-floor buildings after the earthquake with the third floor turning into the first floor and original first and second floors turning into debris. Xuankou School was badly damaged and to remember and retain the history, during post-disaster reconstruction, the remains of Xuankou School was completely retained as the site. It is the only large site relatively completely retained in the 5.12 Wenchuan Earthquake and the anniversary funeral ritual venue of 5.12 Wenchuan Earthquake center in 2009.
Given that the area is on the fault zone, it is not appropriate to build permanent structure from the safety point of view, and therefore during post-disaster reconstruction, Yingxiuwan Park was built. Integrated with ecological tourism and tourist collection and distribution,it not only ensures safety, but also acts as a square to resist disaster. You will see prosperous flowers and trees and crowds of tourists whenever you come.
