During the period from June 23, 2017 to June 27, 2017, the BRICS Film Festival – 2017 China was held in Chengdu, which swept a strong “BRICS Film Whirlwind” in the local place.
The opening ceremony of Film Festival regards “covenant of civilization” as the core idea, and fully represents the good vision of mutual communications among the cultures of BRICS countries and the good vision of common prosperity in film, through three sections and chapters, namely, “civilization – gift of time”, “film – sharing of the world”, and “innovation – future of the world”.
On June 23, Where Did the Time Go – the first film jointly shot by BRICS countries was premiered. The film creators from BRICS countries were interviewed by the media; they told the production process of film and the source of inspiration about the story.
On June 24, “BRICS Film Cooperation Forum”, the theme forum of BRICS Film Festival – 2017 China was held in Chengdu. In this forum, the filmmakers from BRICS countries reached BRICS Film Cooperation Consensus, which would further deepen the cultural and educational exchanges and cooperation among BRICS countries. China hopes to continuously adopt the successful cooperation mode that BRICS jointly shot the film Where Did the Time Go, and plans to launch one jointly shot film every year in the five years until 2021. Thus, Year 2017-2021 Plan for BRICS Jointly Shooting Films was specially introduced.
