On June 11 local time, Sichuan overseas tourism marketing team reached Barcelona, the historic and cultural city famous all over the world, and performed a “Panda Show” integrating passion and art in such a legendary city which owns 9 world cultural heritages and where masters like Gaudi and Picasso made great achievements.
At 10:00am, Gaudi Street between the world famous architecture Sagrada Familia and St. Paul's Hospital were crowded. There, the activity “Pandas Walk toward the World – Beautiful China” was being held by the Information Office of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government and Sichuan Tourism Development Committee.
An acting area and an interaction zone were set at the site of activity. “Pan Ni Lai (look forward to your coming)” and many panda figures played flash dances, and interacted and took photos with tourists, and distributed Sichuan tourism promotional materials and small gifts, which made a lot of people gather there. Spanish artists also brought their “Giant” performance, and interacted with panda figures, which made a stir in the audience.
At the both sides of Gaudi Street, there were over 10 panda sculptures who were 1-2m tall and different in shapes with Chinese element, colored painting, on the whole body, which attracted tourists to stop for taking group photos. The colorful colors and the symbolic patterns aroused the interest of local citizens and tourists in Sichuan.
There was also a DIY panda colored painting zone set at the site. The local street artists and tourists took active participations.
The wonderful and magical Sichuan Opera Face pushed the activity to a new high unsurprisingly. The face changing actors interacted with on-site audience passionately to let them closely feel the delicacy of Sichuan opera.
The local citizens and tourists expressed that they liked panda and China very much, and hoped to leave for Sichuan to take a travel and have a look at the real pandas if there would be a chance in the future.
Later on, “Sichuan chefs” came on the stage at the finale to show their excellent cooking skills for the attended guests, and to compete with the foreign chefs on the scene to make the food cultures of two countries collide and integrate with each other.
