The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (Panda Base) is located in the northeast suburb of Chengdu, about 13 km from the downtown center. It is probably the most important base in the world dedicated to the protection of giant pandas and other endangered species.
Chengdu is the only metropolitan city in the world that is close to the giant panda habitats and the Panda Base is a National AAAA tourist scenic area, where the relocation and protection of endangered species, including the giant pandas, are carried out.

A giant climbing panda sculpture on Chengdu''s Chunxi Road is growing to be a popular site for taking selfies. With the grand opening of Chengdu International Finance Square (Chengdu IFS) on January 14, 2014, the giant panda''s real appearance was finally revealed. Created by internationally renowned artist Lawrence Argent, the gigantic panda sculpture is named as "I am Here", with a weight of 13 tons and a height of 15 meters.

Chengdu Metro Line 3, highlighting one train with panda elements, has been put into service since July 31, 2016. Running from the city''s southwest to the northeast, it is about 20 kilometers long and has 17 stops, passing through major tourist destinations, including the Panda Base.
The carriages have handles shaped like panda heads, while the pole grips are painted to resemble bamboo. Seats and walls are decorated with panda patterns and pink bear footprints speckle the floor. And the panda train also features announcements in the voice of a child for maximum cuteness.

The first panda-themed KFC restaurant arrives in Chengdu on June 25.The restaurant stands out with its unique layout and decoration that features the panda elements with the photos of pandas and panda dolls adorning the walls, settings of bamboo trees.
